Yogyakarta (ANTARA News) – Lembaga Konsumen Yogyakarta menilai dalam program konversi minyak tanah ke kompor gas pemerintah seharusnya tidak hanya berhenti pada masalah distribusi tetapi harus ada kebijakan lanjutan berupa regulasi untuk menjamin hak-hak konsumen.
“Pemerintah tidak hanya berhenti pada program pengadaan dan distribusi saja, namun harus terus memantau melalui kebijakan terkait masalah keamanan dan penyediaan sumber energi alternatif yang berkelanjutan bagi konsumen,” kata Ketua Lembaga Konsumen Yogyakarta (LKY) Widijantoro, Minggu.
Menurut dia, pihaknya beberapa kali melakukan survei dan memang didapati kualitas kompor gas, regulator, selang dan tabung gas ukuran tiga kilogram kurang bagus dan sering menimbulkan kecelakaan seperti tabung yang meledak maupun terjadinya kebakaran.
“Terjadinya kecelakaan ini merugikan konsumen, dan merupakan hak konsumen untuk dijamin keamanan dan keselamatannya,” katanya.
Ia mengatakan, kompor gas dan perlengkapannya dalam program konversi ini memang patut dipertanyakan kualitasnya karena merupakan produk massal untuk mengejar target distribusi.
“Kompor gas dan perlengkapannya tersebut dibuat PT Pertamina maupun diimpor hanya untuk memenuhi target distribusi sehingga hanya mengejar sisi kuantitas saja sementara untuk kualitas di bawah standar,” katanya.
Widijantoro mengatakan, selain itu saat ini masyarakat yang menerima kompor gas dari konversi tersebut juga banyak yang mengeluh karena ternyata kompor tersebut sudah rusak.
“Masyarakat banyak yang resah karena kompor dari program konversi tersebut mulai rusak dan mereka harus membeli sendiri yang baru dengan harga yang relatif mahal dan tidak sedikit yang tidak mampu membeli akhirnya kembali lagi menggunakan kayu bakar karena untuk memakai kompor minyak harga minyak tanah sangat mahal,” katanya.
Ia mengatakan, seharusnya pemerintah mulai memikirkan agar program konversi kompor gas tidak hanya berhenti pada distribusi saja tetapi bagaimana program ini bisa berlangsung terus dan memberikan pelayanan serta pemenuhan hak para konsumen.
“Seharusnya program konversi tidak berhenti pada pengadaan saja tetapi bagaimana bisa berlangsung terus sehingga masyarakat yang sudah terbantu kemudian tidak terbebani karena harus menanggung beban pemeliharaan yang cukup besar serta ketersediaan gas termasuk hak konsumen atas keamanan,” katanya.
